The Hannah Geneser Foundation

Our Mission

The Hannah Geneser Foundation was born of unimaginable loss and shaped by an unbending refusal to let that loss be silent. We are here to keep other families whole.

Mission

The Hannah Geneser Foundation will promote childhood safety through public awareness and educational opportunities. In addition, the Hannah Geneser Foundation will help bring awareness to organ, eye, and tissue donation through advocacy and outreach.

Our Goals & Objectives

  1. Promote public awareness and provide educational opportunities highlighting the hidden, yet prevalent, circumstances that may lead to the unintended death or serious injury of a child.

  2. Sponsor public service announcements and provide educational materials on matters of child safety.

  3. Partner and collaborate with area companies and organizations to promote outreach activities and programs on child safety.

  4. Offer support to families coping with the loss of a child.

  5. Provide financial assistance to promote the well-being and education of children.

I believe that imagination is stronger than knowledge. Myth is more potent than history. Dreams are more powerful than facts. Hope always triumphs over experience. Laughter is the cure for grief. Love is stronger than death.

Why we came to be

On March 21, 2011, four-year-old Hannah Ray Geneser died in a tragic accident when a screen gave way and she fell through an open window. In response to her devastating and untimely death, the Hannah Geneser Foundation was established by her family later that year. Fifteen years on, the Foundation still carries her name into every window guard installed, every family who leaves the Learning Center safer than when they arrived, and every organ donor registered in her memory.
